Ingredients & Directions


4 c Diced green tomatoes (about
-1 1/4 pounds)
4 c Peeled diced tart apples
-(about 1 1/2 pounds)
1 c Raisins
1/2 c Honey
1/2 c Molasses
1/4 c Cider vinegar
1/2 ts Nutmeg
1 ts Cinnamon
1/2 ts Salt
(original also called for 2
-tablespoons oil–omitted)

Combine all ingredients in a 3-5 quart saucepan and simmer 25 minutes. Put
into sterilized warm pint jars leaving 1/4 inch space at the top. Process
in a steam canner or boiling water bath for 10 minutes.

makes 3 pints.

To use: pour 1 pint into an 8 inch baking dish and cover top with pastry.
Bake at 400 for 12-15 minutes until brown and serve warm.
