Ingredients & Directions


Nutmeg and rum flavor these 2 t Vanilla
-3-inch iced cookie logs. 2 t Rum extract
3/4 c Sugar 1 ea Egg
1 c Margarine or butter, 3 c Flour
Softened 1 t Nutmeg

Combine sugar, margarine, vanilla and rum extract with egg until
light and fluffy. Blend in combined flour and nutmeg. Cover bowl with
plastic wrap and refrigerate 30 to 45 minutes. Divide dough into six
pieces. Shape each piece on a lightly floured surface into long rope,
1/2 inch in diameter. Cut into 3-inch lengths. Place on ungreased
cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes or until
light golden brown. Cool on rack. Frosting: Combine 2 cups powdered
sugar, 3 tbsp. margarine, 3/4 tsp. rum extract, 1/4 tsp. vanilla and
2 to 3 tbsp. cream or milk. Stir until smooth and spread on top and
sides of cookies. Mark frosting with tines of fork to resemble bark.
Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg. Allow frosting to set before storing
tightly in covered container. Makes 4 1/2 to 5 dozen cookies.
