Ingredients
  

  • ORANGE POPPY SEED CAKE BATTER
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1/4 cup poppy seeds
  • 1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • IORANGE GLAZE
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C), and grease a large bundt cake pan. Alternatively, you can grease two 9×4 inch loaf cake pans.
  • Mix together all cake ingredients in a large bowl using an electric mixer for 3 to 4 minutes, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  • Pour the batter into the bundt cake pan and bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Prepare The Orange Glaze: Mix together the orange juice, sugar, vanilla, and almond extract.
  • Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool for 5 minutes in the cake. Remove the orange glaze.
  • Allow the cake to cool for 30 minutes before slicing.
