Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C), and grease an 8X5 inch loaf cake pan.
  • Add the cornmeal, flour, sugar, and baking powder to a bowl and whisk together.
  • In a separate bowl stir together milk, butter, and egg.
  • Pour the milk mixture into the flour and stir until the dry ingredients are moistened.
  • Fill the loaf cake pan with the cornbread batter.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes.
