- 3/4 cup ( 170 grams / 6 oz) unsalted butter room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups ( 300 grams / 11 oz) raw brown sugar old fashion brown sugar f available
- 1 50 grams / 1.76oz) large egg
- 4 tbsp ( 60 grams / 2.11oz) Water
- 1 tsp ( 4.2 grams /0.148oz) Natural Vanilla Extract
- 4 1/2 cups ( 400 grams / 14 oz) rolled oats
- 1 cup ( 125 grams / 4.4oz ) all purpose flour
- 1 tsp ( 5 grams / Salt
- 1/2 tsp ( 2.5 grams ) baking powder
Preheat your oven to 350F/180C. Use parchment paper or grease two large cookie baking sheeting.
In a large mixing bowl, beat or mix the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add in the egg, water and vanilla extract and mix for about 2 minutes or until the mixture is smooth. Add the rolled oats and mix for additional 1-2 minutes or until mixture is combined.
Using a ice cream scoop or large tablespoon, start scooping individual pieces of the cookie batter onto baking sheet make sure there is enough space between portions as the cookie batter will spread during the baking.
Bake the classic oatmeal cookies for approximately 13-15 minutes or until golden brown. Once baked transfer to wired rack for cooling.
