Easy Squid Game Dalgona Candy Recipe (Ppopgi)
This Korean Dalgona sugar candy is the talk of every household with the popularity of the Squid Game series on Netflix. This easy Squid Game dalgona candy recipe ( Ppopgi) only takes 5 minutes to prepare and uses only two simple pantry ingredients, sugar, and baking soda.
Equipment
- Ladle
- Small wooden spoon or chopsticks
- Cookie cutters with different patterns
- Silicone Mat or Parchment Paper
- Hotteok Press
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 pinch of baking soda
Instructions
- Place the sugar in a non-stick metal ladle and heat on medium low setting.
- Stir constantly with a wooden spoon until the sugar is completely melted.
- Remove from heat and add a pinch of baking soda and mix well. The caramel will expand and lighten in color to a golden beige.
- It will expand and change from light brown to creamy golden beige.
- Sprinkle some sugar onto the parchment paper then pour the hot foamy caramel onto the parchment paper, then add the lollipop stick into the lower part directly in the middle about an inch from the rim.
- Then press using a non stick flat kitchen utensil, small lid or bowl. If you have a Dalgana Candy Kit, then use the press that it came with.
- After you press the candy, use the different pattern stamps that came with the Dalgana candy kit or any small cookie cutter and press firmly to make a good impression along the center of the candy. The deeper you press the easier it will be for someone to remove the center pieces, if you want to make the Ppopgi game more challenging then light press.
- Allow the candy to cool before serving.
