Ingredients
  

  • 330 grams all-purpose flour 2 3/4 cups
  • 230 grams salted butter 1 cup, room temperature
  • 130 fine sugar 130 grams 2/3 cup)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375º F (190 ºC), and set the rack to the middle position.
  • Add the butter and sugar into a mixing bowl of a stand mixer and on medium speed until the mixture is soft and creamy.
  • Add the flour and mix just until the shortbread dough comes together.
  • Transfer the dough to a 9X9 inch greased baking pan, pat the dough down, then place parchment paper over it.
  • Use a cup or small rolling pin to evening spread the dough throughout the pan. The thickness of the dough in the pan shout be about 3/4 inches or 2 centimeters.
  • Prick the top with a fork to make the classic Walker’s appearance.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes in the preheated oven.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle some sugar over the top.
  • Cut immediately into 1 1/2 inches by 3 inches while the shortbread is still hot.
  • Cool and serve.
