Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices white bread buttered cut into small cubes
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Place brown sugar in the top pot or dish of the double boiler.
  • Then add the cubed bread on top of the brown sugar.
  • In a bowl, beat the eggs with milk, vanilla, and salt, then pour it over bread.
  • Place the pot over simmering water on the double boiler, cover and cook for 1 1/2 hours. Do not stir the mixture.
  • The brown sugar sauce will be in the bottom of pot.
  • Once cooked, turn over the bread pudding onto a serving plate.
