Ingredients For Double Boiler Bread Pudding

  • 4 slices white bread buttered and cut into small cubes
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 

How To Make Double-Boiler Bread Pudding?

  1. Place brown sugar in the top pot or dish of the double boiler.
  2. Then add the cubed bread on top of the brown sugar.
  3. In a bowl, beat the eggs with milk, vanilla, and salt, then pour it over the bread.
  4. Place the pot over simmering water on the double boiler, cover, and cook for 1 1/2 hours. Do not stir the mixture.
  5. The brown sugar sauce will be in the bottom of the pot.
  6. Once cooked, turn over the bread pudding onto a serving plate.
