Ingredients For Kourabiedes Greek Wedding Cookies

  • 4 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups Sweet Butter room temp
  • 1 cup Walnuts or blanched almonds, (coarse ground)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup icing sugar plus more for coating
  • 1 tablespoon brandy

How To Make Kourabiedes Greek Wedding Cookies?

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C), and line 3 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Add the butter into a bowl and beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add 1 cup powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and brandy and mix to combine.
  4. Slowly add the flour in additions of one cup and then fold the walnuts or almonds into the mixture. 
  5. Using a teaspoon, spoon two teaspoons of the cookie batter and shape them into small balls. Place them onto a lined baking sheet, then slightly press them down. Separate the cookies about 1 1/2 inches on the baking tray.
  6. Bake the cookies for 20-22 minutes or until lightly golden in color.
  7. Remove the cookies from the oven and coat them with the remaining icing sugar.
  8. Place onto cookie platter.

Notes

To coat the cookies you will need additional 3 cups of icing sugar (powdered sugar).
