- 1/4 teaspoon baking Powder
- 2 packages (16 squares) of Baker’s Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate, divided
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C), and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Chop 8 squares (1 package) of the chocolate into small pieces, then set aside.
- Add the remaining chocolate squares into a microwavable safe bowl for one to two minutes, remove the bowl and stir the chocolate until it completely melts and is smooth in texture. Place it back into the microwave for 30 seconds to 1 minute if needed.
