1/2 c Margarine or butter 1 ts Vanilla
3 oz Unsweetened chocolate 1 c Walnuts; chopped
— squares; cut-up 1 9 inch pie single-crust
3 Eggs; beaten Chocolate sauce
1 1/2 c Sugar Vanilla or coffee ice cream
1/2 c All-purpose flour

For filling, in a small heavy saucepan melt margarine or butter and
chocolate over low heat, stirring frequently. Cool for 20 mins. In a
large mixing bowl stir together eggs, sugar, flour, and vanilla. Stir
in the cooled chocolate and walnuts. Pour filling into a pastry-lined
9-inch pie plate.

Bake in a 350 F oven for 50 to 55 mins or until a knife inserted near
the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Serve warm with
chocolate sauce. If desired, top with ice cream.

Makes 8 servings.

CHOCOLATE SAUCE: In a heavy small saucepan melt 1/2 cup margarine or
butter and 2 squares (2 oz) unsweetened chocolate over low heat,
stirring frequently. Stir in 2 cups sifted powdered sugar and one
5-ounce can (2/3 cup) evaporated milk. Bring to boiling; reduce heat.
Simmer, uncovered, for 8 to 10 mins, stirring frequently. Remove from
heat. Stir in 1 tsp vanilla. Serve warm. Makes about 1 2/3 cups.
