Ingredients For Cheddar And Bacon Quick Bread
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon onion salt
- 1/2 teaspoon leaf oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 1/4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, plus some for the top
- 1/2 cup bacon bits
- 1 egg well beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
How To Make Cheddar And Bacon Quick Bread?
- Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, onion salt, oregano, mustard, baking bits, and cheese, and set aside.
- Combine egg, milk, and butter and add at once to dry ingredients, stirring until the mixture is just moistened.
- Spread batter in a greased 8 1/2 X 4 1/2 inch loaf pan, then cover the top with shredded cheese.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn over the cheddar cheese loaf onto a cooling rack.
- Allow to fully cool.
