Cheddar Cheese & Bacon Quick Bread

Ingredients For Cheddar And Bacon Quick Bread

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon leaf oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 1/4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, plus some for the top
  • 1/2 cup bacon bits
  • 1 egg well beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

How To Make Cheddar And Bacon Quick Bread?

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, onion salt, oregano, mustard, baking bits, and cheese, and set aside.
  2. Combine egg, milk, and butter and add at once to dry ingredients, stirring until the mixture is just moistened.
  3. Spread batter in a greased 8 1/2 X 4 1/2 inch loaf pan, then cover the top with shredded cheese.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
  5. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn over the cheddar cheese loaf onto a cooling rack.
  6. Allow to fully cool.
  7. Enjoy!
