EASY TURKISH SEMOLINA HALVA RECIPE

This easy Turkish semolina halva recipe can be quickly prepared. Semolina halva a is a delicious popular Turkish dessert that can be enjoyed every day.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of semolina
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 1/4 cup peanuts, pine nuts or pistachio (crushed)

For The Syrup

1 cup of granulated sugar

2 cups of water or milk

Garnish

  • Walnuts, Pistachio, Peanuts or Almonds

Instructions

  • Put the butter and oil into a pot heat on medium low.
  • When butter is melted, add the semolina into the pot and stir, cook for 10 minutes.
  • Add your choice of either the peanuts, walnuts, almond or pistachio and continue cooking the mixture for 5 minutes.
  • Add the sugar and stir. When you notice the color of the semolina turning brown, add the water.
  • Do not forget to take precautions against splashes when adding milk and water or milk.
  • Stir a couple of times over low heat until the syrup is completely absorbed by the mixture. Remove from heat and let it cool down.
  • You can shape your halva or serve it as is in a bowl.
  • Garnish the top with pistachio, pine nuts, almonds or walnuts.
  • You can also top this dessert with fresh fruit, blueberries, raspberries or strawberries.
