Ingredients & Directions


1 1/2 c Flour
1 ts Ground cinnamon
1/2 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Salt
1 ts Peeled/grated ginger root
1/4 c Brown sugar, packed
1 Egg, beaten
1/2 c Boiling water
1 ts Ground ginger
1/8 ts Ground cloves
1/2 ts Baking powder
5 oz Baby food pureed pears
1/2 c Dark molasses

Sift together flour, ground ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking powder,
baking soda, and salt into mixing bowl. Stir to blend. Add pureed
pears, ginger root, brown sugar, egg, molasses and water. Stir just
until blended.

Pour into 8-inch round baking pan sprayed with non-stick vegetable
spray. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 25-30 minutes. Cool 5 minutes in
pan. Remove cake from pan and cool to warm on wire rack. Makes 6
servings.
