Ingredients & Directions


2 c Sifted all-purpose flour 1 c Sugar
1/2 ts Baking powder 1 Egg — beaten
1/2 ts Baking soda 2 tb Milk
1/2 ts Salt 1/2 ts Vanilla
2/3 c Butter or margarine 1/2 ts Lemon extract

Sift first four ingredients together. Cream butter and sugar. Blend
in egg, milk, and flavorings. Blend in dry ingredients. Chill in
refrigerator 2 hours.
Roll 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured board. Cut into desired shapes
with floured cooky cutters. Bake on ungreased cooky sheet in
moderate oven (375 deg. F) 10 to 12 min.
Makes about 5 doz. cookies.
