Ingredients & Directions


1 Loaf Unbaked Bread (Can Use
-Frozen Dough)
1 lb Bacon
8 c Cabbage; shredded
1/2 ts Salt
1/4 ts Pepper
3 Eggs; beaten
1 1/2 c Cream Or Half And Half
1/2 c Swiss Cheese; Grated,
-optional

* Heat oven to 350 F.

1. Roll out the bread dough about 1/4-inch thick and place it in a 9-inch
pie pan. Crimp edges, as would for a pie.

2. Cut the bacon into small pieces and brown them in a large heavy skillet.
Pour off all but 1 Tbs of grease. Stir in the shredded cabbage and cook
over moderate heat, stirring, for 1 min.

3. Over low heat, add salt and pepper, eggs, cream and the cheese. Cook for
3 to 4 mins, stirring. Put mixture in the crust and bake for 30 mins, or
until filling is set and the edges are golden brown.
