1 pk Yeast
1 c Warm water (105 to 115
-degrees)
1 tb Sugar
1 1/2 c All-purpose flour
1/2 ts Salt (optional)
1 1/2 c Whole wheat flour

Dissolve yeast in warm water in a medium mixing bowl: add sugar and let
stand 5 minutes. Add all-purpose flour and salt; beat at low speed of an
electric mixer until smooth. Gradually stir in whole wheat flour. Turn
dough out onto a floured surface; knead 3 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Cover dough and let rest 10 minutes. Divide dough into 6 equal protions;
shape each portion into a smooth ball. Pat each ball into a 5 inch circle.
Place circles on lightly sprayed baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 8
to 10 minutes. Cut in half with scissors to make bread rounds or pockets.
serves 12.

I got this recipe for pita bread from “the Mormon Diet Cookbook”. I
personally have not made this yet because of lack of time, but so far the
recipes in this book have not been bad. Hope you like this one.
