300 g Butter
450 ml Wheat flour
200 ml Water

FILLING
300 g Dried prunes
100 ml Water
Sugar to taste

This is from my Christmas recipe collection. These are still a tradition in
most Finnish families.

Dough: Mix soft butter with flour and water. Place in cold until hard.
(You can store it in a cold place overnight.) Roll out very thin, fold
sides in the middle, overlapping. Roll and fold at least three times. For
better results let cool after every folding.

Filling: Boil prunes in water until they fall apart. Add sugar. Mix well
and let cool.

Roll out the dough to half centimeter thickness. Cut it to squares. Place a
teaspoonfull of filling on the center of each square. Cut a little from
each corner towards the center. Fold left-side halfs of each corner to the
middle, on top of filling. Pinch tightly. Brush with egg. Bake in 225 C
oven for 8 – 10 minutes. Sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar.
