Ingredients & Directions


1/2 pk (17 1/4oz.) frozen puff
-pastry (1 sheet),, thawed
2 tb Butter or margarine;,
-divided
2 Red and/or green apples;
-cpred and cut, into thin
-rings, divided
1/4 c Maple syrup;, divided
1/2 c Apple butter

Preheat oven to 400. On floured surface, roll pastry to 10-inch square;
place on cookie sheet. Cut 1-inch diagonal slit on each corner of the
pastry. Cut four 3/4-inch strips from around the edge of the pastry.
Lightly moisten edge of the pastry square. Place strips along each edge so
the end pieces overlap. Prick center with fork. Bake 15 minutes or until
brown; cool. Meanwhile, in large skillet, over medium heat, melt 1
tablespoon butter. Add 1/2 of the apple rings and cook 2 minutes, until
tender; stir in 2 tablespoons maple syrup; set aside. In same skillet,
repeat with remaining butter, apples and syrup. Spread apple butter on
pastry. Top with apples.
