3/4 c Soft shortening 1/2 ts Salt
1 c Brown sugar, packed 3/4 ts Cinnamon
1 Egg 1/4 ts Cloves
1/2 c Applesauce 1 c Seedless raisins
2 1/4 c Flour 1/2 c Chopped nuts
1/2 ts Soda
Heat oven to 375 (quick mod.). Mix shortening, sugar and egg
thoroughly. Stir in applesauce. Measure flour by dip-level-pour
method or by sifting. Blend dry ingredients; stir in. Mix in raisins
and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake 10 to
12 min.
Makes 4 dozen cookies.
