1 c Brown sugar
1 Egg
1/2 ts Vanilla
1 3/4 c Flour
1/2 ts Soda
1/4 ts Salt
Mix shortening, sugar, egg & vanilla. Stir in flour, soda & salt.
Wrap in wax paper. Chill until firm. Heat oven to 400. Cut in 1/8″
slices. Place on ungreased sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes.
