Ingredients & Directions


2 c All-purpose flour
3/4 c Sugar
3/4 c Vegetable oil
2 Eggs
2 ts Vanilla extract
1 ts Baking soda
1 ts Ground cinnamon
1/8 ts Salt
1 cn (21-oz) cherry pie filling
6 oz Semisweet chocolate chips
1 c Chopped nuts
Confectioners sugar

This very different cake is so delicious it doesn’t need a frosting! Bake
it in a tube or bundt pan. sprinkle with confectioners sugar if desired.

1. Preheat the oven to 350. Butter and flour a bundt pan or 10-inch tube
pan.

2. In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, oil, eggs, vanilla, baking soda,
cinnamon and salt. Mix well. Stir in the cherries and their liquid the
chocolate chips and nuts.

3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 1 hour, until a
cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean.

4. Cool on rack and remove from the pan to cool completely.

5. To serve, sprinkle with confectioners sugar, if desired. Serves 16.
